Ohio Summer Camps 2020

Chef Amee's Cooking Cottage

150 Norman Ave., Avon Lake, 44012

For ages 6-12 years old. All camps include a 3-course meal prepared by the young chefs as well as a recipe packet. Each student will learn:

  • proper knife skills

  • safe cooking methods

  • how to incorporate spices and herbs tastefully

  • gardening maintenance

  • kitchen clean up basics

COVID-19 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

  • Everyone attending will be required to bring and wear their own face mask along with disposable gloves that are provided with lots of handwashing. Campers are welcome to bring their own hand sanitizer and water bottles.

  • Upon arrival, all campers will have their temperature taken to ensure safety for everyone.

  • Classes will be held outside, with campers spaced out at different tables. If weather doesn't permit, I will create adequate space inside to accomodate the situation.

  • LIMITED CLASS SIZE- MAXIMUM 6 STUDENTS

Garden Cupcakes & Sweet Treats:

June 8 & 9, 10:30am-1:30pm

 

Young bakers will learn how to use fondant, frosting tips and other techniques to create their own From Scratch Garden Cupcakes and Sweet Treats. *Bakers will need to pack a lunch for each class. 

Whimsical Cake Decorating- Garden Cakes:

June 10-12th, 10:30am-1:30pm

 

Young cake decorators will learn how to use fondant, frosting tips and other techniques to create their own From Scratch Garden Cakes and Cupcakes. *Bakers will need to pack a lunch for each class.

 

By the Lake Cupcakes & Sweet Treats:

July 27 & 28th, 10:30am-1:30pm

 

Young cake decorators will learn how to use fondant, frosting tips and other techniques to create their own By the Lake From Scratch Cupcakes and Sweet Treats. *Bakers will need to pack a lunch for each class.

July 29-31st, 10:30am-1:30pm

Backyard Grilling:

June 23-25th OR June 30th-July 2nd, 10:30am-1:30pm

Young chefs will create recipes that they can create outside while enjoying our gorgeous summer weather. Recipes to include: Real Grilled Cheese, Marinated Chicken, Grilled Cheesy Asparagus, Bacon Cheddar Stuffed Burgers, Oatmeal Chip Ice Cream Sandwiches plus more.

Baking and A Craft:

July 21-23rd, 10:30am-1:30pm

 

Young chefs and crafters will create recipes that they bake while also working on a Painting Craft each day. Recipes to include: Fudgy Brownies, Coconut Lime Sugar Cookies, and Berry Crumb Bars along with Hot Sandwiches each day. Special instruction for this class will be sent 1-2 weeks prior to class.

 

European Tour- Recipes from Germany,  Spain & Greece

August 11-13th OR 18-20th, 10:30am-1:30pm

 

Young chefs will create a variety of ethnic cuisine including: Fresh Garden Salsa, Taco Bar with Homemade Flour Tortillas, German Apple Pancakes,  Flammkuchen (German Pizza), Greek Gyros and more.
